Orana Heights Public School has a brand new computer room.
The departments T4L initiative allowed the school to purchase twenty-one computers in 2014 that were placed in classrooms across the schools allowing classrooms to have new desktop computers.We have also purchased forty XO laptops in the special education and infants classrooms.
This year has also seen the whole school second year of Mathletics. Mathletics is the next generation in Math's learning. It helps students enjoy mathematics and achieve outstanding results. Reading Eggs and Reading Express was introduced across the whole school this year. Reading Eggs and Reading Express teaches children how to read with fun and motivational online reading lessons and phonics games.
The school currently has desktop computers in all classrooms, smartboards in all classrooms, a laptop trolley, XO laptops, iPads, iPods, Mathletics, virtual excursion opportunities, Reading Eggs and Reading Express.Technology allows students to have increased motivation, work at their own pace and cater for all learning styles and students abilities.
